The HUB Merges with Hunstanton Sailing Club

The Hub was formed in April 2005 to gather together and represent kite surfers using the coastline from 'Heacham up to Brancaster'. In these three years we have built solid relationships with local beach owners/authorities and the club has grown to a membership of over 140 kite surfers.

The Hub has always enjoyed a strong relationship with Hunstanton Sailing Club (HSC) and this year we made the decision to merge fully with HSC for the benefit of all. The Hub has now formally been dissolved and all assets and memberships have been transferred to HSC with effect from 5th April 2008.

All Hub members with current membership status are now Hunstanton Sailing Club BKSA Affiliate members (PLEASE NOTE: As with previous Hub membership, BKSA Affiliate members are not entitled to park at HSC or use the facilities. If you would like to park and use showers, wash area etc. you will need to upgrade your affiliate membership to full HSC membership).

New and renewing Hunstanton Sailing Club BKSA Affiliate Members will receive a membership pack when they join. This pack will contain everything that the previous Hub packs contained (local access and safety info, harness tag, board stickers) plus information about the Sailing Club, benefits of full membership, parking/facilities rights and so on.

The content of the Hub website (beach info, safety info etc) will be merged with the Sailing Club website shortly. New forums for all of the different watersports groups (dingy, windsurf, kitesurf, kayak etc.) will be setup on the HSC website and we will move our userbase to these forums in due course.

In essence things will carry on much as they are. We'll still go out and do what we do on the water, chat on the forums, welcome new members, look after our beaches, host events and all the rest of the stuff that we already do - but now we'll be doing it under the proud banner of Hunstanton Sailing Club.
